Ministry News: Now Accepting Interns!
In June 2022, we started our internship program and accepted our first highschool age interns. The CMOTO Internship Program was started to pour intensively into young people, ages 14-18, who are passionate about creation science and proclaiming the good news of the gospel.
What Is The CMOTO Internship?
What does a day for a CMOTO intern look like? First, our interns are part of our morning devotions and receive their instructions for the day along with the rest of the staff. These roles include tour shadowing, where they both learn from a trained tour guide and assist them with their group.
At the front desk our interns learn about greeting guests and how to operate the cash register. Or they may be found helping the bookstore manager with inventory and bookstore displays or being trained to handle our lobby critters for the enjoyment and education of guests.
Outside the museum, our interns have joined our speakers for various outings, learning how to give first-class presentations to an audience.
In addition to helping with daily ministry opportunities, interns are also given a specific course of study which includes books, videos, articles from the best communicators in the creation scientific community.
This equips them with a “reasonable faith” in our Creator, Who not only gave us His infallible historical account of the world (a.k.a. the Bible), but Who has also left undeniable evidence of His existence in the world around us. In other words, our interns learn many spiritual truths, valuable skills, and scientific knowledge that will benefit them wherever God calls them in the future.
How Does The Internship Work?
The CMOTO Internship Program is flexibly designed to fit any schedule. Some of our interns come twice a week, weekly, or every other week, allowing them to fit their internship around school, summer vacations, or part-time jobs. The basic internship is a 120-hour course that includes quizzes, essays, and presentations to measure comprehension of the knowledge as it is taught.
But that’s not all. We also developed our “Stones & Bones” program, an advanced internship add-on, which a couple of our interns have tackled as well. “Stones & Bones” includes more in-depth study on geology and fossils with additional quizzes and essays, and opportunities to work on actual fossils in our own laboratory.
Who Are Our Interns?
As our first five interns draw towards the end of their internship, we’d like to ask you to join us in congratulating them on their accomplishments over the past year!
