Exciting Renovations: Only a Start

As we kick off the 2023 season, it’s exciting to be able to share with returning visitors that their Creation Experience has seen some improvements over the winter. Although the work is scheduled to continue throughout the season, already one can see impressive changes to the bookstore and helpful updates to the exhibits. We want to briefly share a few of those with you.

First, our bookstore has seen some major (and much needed) improvements. We were constantly running out of shelf space, and as the ending point for the tour, the bookstore could also get a little crowded. Thankfully, the new changes have helped in both of these areas.

Many of the old bookcases were removed, and in their place, we set up a slat wall system. This system, in addition to giving a cleaner, more professional feel to the store, also reclaimed some floor space.

As for exhibit updates, we were excited to see a face lift to our ocean display in Hall 1 of the tour. The team did an excellent job giving it an added aquatic feel. Beyond just aesthetics, though, the information side of the exhibit also improved with the labeling of the exhibited shells’ species.

Of course, renovations like these (though needed) are only a start. Over the years, we have often added exhibits that we simply thought would be helpful, so we made them fit. This year, however, we hope to make the museum a more uniform and visually stimulating experience for you.

From Genesis 1:1 to the Resurrection of Christ, we desire our exhibits to have the maximum benefit possible for the thousands of souls that come through our doors each year. We already know we have a message worth sharing. Now we trust the Lord to guide us in making the museum a place that will share it well.

As always, we appreciate and desire your prayers. Although we have a truly amazing team, we realize we still don’t have what it takes in our own power to accomplish all that the Lord would have us to do. We ask that you join us in seeking our Creator and Savior, as we endeavor to help more people trust His Word. God bless you all.

The Rest of the Question

We’ve all been asked the question. “Why does God allow evil in the world?” But there is another side to that question, a query that cannot be addressed by logic, history, or facts. It’s the heart behind the question, often a bruised heart deeply wounded by evil, loss, or betrayal.

The Old Testament: Mountains of Evidence

In the previous month of Creation Matters, we examined answers to the question “How do we know Genesis (and for that matter the entire Old Testament) has been accurately preserved to our time?” In this article, we will unpack a very, very brief overview of the scientific and scholarly side of this question, touching on early manuscripts, scribal practice, and ancient witnesses to the O.T. text.
