Always Improving: 2026 Renovations

Each Branson off-season, we seek to upgrade our guests’ museum experience by continually evaluating our facilities and exhibits. This year was no exception!

Refinished Triceratops Head

For multiple years our mounted triceratops has greeted guests as they enter the parking lot. After withstanding many a storm, Ozark winter, and scorching sun rays, one of our talented volunteers gave him an incredible make-over.  (Click here to watch a timelapse of the repainting process)

Delk Print Cast

This set of Cretaceous footprints was discovered by Alvis Delk and has been featured as a poster in our fossil section. We have now obtained a cast instead, making us one of only four locations to have a cast of this incredible fossil.

More Staff Space & Made-over History Hall

In pursuit of using every inch of space in our current location, we added on an extra room for our growing staff to spread out. We also redid our hall of CMOTO’s history. Thank you to all our volunteers and staff who worked tirelessly on these updates!

Fossils in Motion

The fossil record is full of mystery. Bones tell us what once lived, but rarely do they tell us how those creatures lived, fought, or gave birth. On rare occasions, however, the fossil record reveals a scene frozen in time. These fossils, preserved “in motion,” reveal not only fascinating glimpses of animal behavior but also evidence of sudden, catastrophic burial.

The Surprising Grandeur of Grass

“At this time of year when lawns across the nation are largely dormant, grass may not stand out as one of God’s amazing gifts to man. However, this humble group of plants deserves some special time in the spotlight.”

Using the Means God has Provided

“Evidence. People say they will believe something if there is enough evidence. But on certain subjects many have a priori already made up their minds and are unwilling to change.”
